Qi Zhou (b.1995) is an artist and graphic designer born and raised in China and is currently based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Qi studied at the University of Alberta, Canada, and completed her Bachelor’s of Design focusing on printmaking in 2019.

In her printmaking practise, she is committed to critiquing the effects of cultural and ideological constructs on identity and gender in contemporary society. Through her critical lens, she has also begun exploring the development of a de-gendered social ideology. From a historical perspective, many of her works express the absurdity surrounding the deprivation of individual meaning and freedom under the indoctrination of a patriarchal hierarchy in society. Through the works, visual metaphors and an exploration of re-examined historical fragments are integral aspects of her image-making practice.
